Louie Dean Valencia-García is a new Lecturer in History and Literature at Harvard University, having earned his PhD at Fordham University in May 2016. Valencia-García studies modern history, urban space, the history of technology, youth cultural production, and queer and subaltern cultures in contemporary history. He has received a Caroline and Erwin Swann Foundation for Caricature and Cartoon from the United States Library of Congress, as well as fellowships from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Santander Universities, and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Sport, and Science, amongst others. His work has been published in The Ages of Superman (2012) and The Punk Aesthetic in Comics (Forthcoming), both by McFarland Press.
